AI news comes in two flavors: breathless hype and end-of-the-world doom. Neither tells you what you actually want to know, which is how much a given story should change what you think or do.
That's the one question How Worried? exists to answer.
What you'll get
Short, plain-English briefings on the AI developments that matter for safety and risk. Each issue covers what happened, why it matters, and an honest rating of how worried you should be about it. No jargon, no hype, no doom for its own sake.
What we cover
Top Story: the most important AI-risk development since the last issue.
What to Know: a few shorter items worth your attention.
What If…: an occasional scenario walking through how something could go wrong, and what would have to happen first.
How to read our worry ratings
Every story gets one of three ratings:
Low: worth knowing, but it doesn't change much. Often a headline that sounds scarier than the facts underneath it.
Medium: a real signal. Something is moving in a direction worth watching closely.
High: a significant development that experts across the field take seriously.
The ratings are our judgment, and we'll explain the reasoning every time. When we get one wrong, we'll say so.
Who it's for
Anyone who wants to understand AI risk without becoming an expert in it: professionals, parents, investors, policymakers, and the curious. If you've ever read an AI headline and thought "should I be worried about this?", this is for you.
